150 km north of Helsinki, Lake Kuohijärvi 50 m (length 17 km, width of 3 km), hard gravel bottom, first about 5 m shallow and after that quickly deepens. Two rowing boats. Electric outboard motor for hire. From pier there is sturdy stairs to the lake.
Log cottage 1981, kitchen-living room, bedroom on the ground floor: double bed, upstairs in hall: double bed (130 cm wide) and 3 single beds. Steep stairs to the upper floor, bathroom with shower and toilet (floor heating).
Separate sauna by the lake, living room with fireplace, sauna (wood-fired stove), bathroom (heated floor).
For summer use only: sleeping hut with 2 bedrooms. In both rooms 2 beds.
Note! Maximum amount of persons is 6 around the year.
In cottage air source heat pump, which can be used during summer time for cooler air. Canal plus total channels.
Main cottage 98 m² + sleeping cabin and sauna totally 32 m².
Wifi.
Many buildings form a pleasant surrounding in a wooded foreland. In addition to a log cabin there are a separate lakeside sauna, sleeping cabin, shed/outdoor toilet and barbeque hut.
Fish smoking oven on the shore. Also gas grill and charcoal grill.
Huge variety of outdoor games (eg table tennis, petanque and "mölkky"). Two kayaks, a surfboard and a rubber boat available. Two bicycles are included in the rent.
There was a ice Age-term natural event 10 000 years ago. During ice Age the lake was divided from end to end and it is a great attraction. The lake is among 10 most clean water lakes in Finland.
Good fish stock in the lake.
Your own fishing possibilities:
Boat for free use, electric outboad motor and an echo sounder for rent 35 € in total / week. Out board motor (4 hp) 50 €/week.
The lake has a lot of rocks and a number of slots and 33 m. All kind of fishes can be found.
About fishing permits:
Angling does not require permits (worms also from the owner). Other types of fishing requires licenses. Local fishing licence can be bought from Kiosk 10 km away: address: Liesontie 500, 16900 Lammi (tel. +358 400221644).
Clients need to have also fishing management fee which can be bought from internet, R-kiosk, or from postal offices (under 18 years old clients and over 65 years old clients don't need it).
From the owner can be ordered in advance crabs and other fishes. Unfortunately client's own crab fishing is not possible. Also fishing with nets is not possible.
Several golf courses: Hämeenlinna 50 km, 9-hole course Padasjoki 25 km.
Evo Hiking and Nature Area 15 km, Porraskoski waterfall (height 10 m) 1,6 km. Farm direct sales Kuusamo Marja ja Vihannestila (berries and vegetables) of 20 km (in Lammi). Swimming hall and gym in Lammi 25 km, Sappee resort 35 km.
Owner speaks Finnish, Swedish, English and Spanish. If needed there is a person who speaks German, French and Russian.
