"Pros: Very quiet, pretty location. Very roomy accommodation, good size table to eat and play at, and comfy living room seats. Good amenities nearby (shop and pub). Loved that it was pet friendly too :) Cons: Parking was a bit tricky although adequate. The shower screen leaked and this was rotting the skirting board. Electric hob took forever to heat up, maybe that's a personal preference as I always use gas. There was a lack of handy plugs in the bedroom." ~Simon

"Pros: Such a special place, the cottage is located in Chapel Stile, much nicer than staying in the hustle and bustle of Windermere and only a 15minute drive from Ambleside. The balcony looks off towards Great Langdale and even though we had poor weather was a nice feature to have coffee on. We had it as a family cottage, being the top floor it's rather large but there is another cottage underneath, we are all generally quiet but I can imagine kids running around would travel downstairs. There's a local shop down the road, pub and tons of hiking trails in walking distance. We hiked up Pavey Ark and did the Langdale Pikes one day, access to Stickleback is an easy trail walk away. Another day we hiked over the Grasmere which is less than 1.5M away but a technical climb up and over. This would make a great base camp for a group of walkers but was also great for our family stay, we had Hello Fresh delivered and enjoyed eating with the amazing backdrops. Tons of books, games and DVD's to read, an amazing original fireplace although we didn't need it. Cons: The integration with Booking.com was broken, we were forced to pay outside Booking.com via the phone which felt a little bit sketchy, dealing with the various vendors under different names and no offer of email confirmation or an invoice when I phoned through. The process honestly felt like a Phishing scam, Booking.com stated the payment hadn't been successful and the status never updated." ~Matt

"Pros: Generally well equipped cottage. Great location for walking out the door. Cons: No comfortable outdoor space. Noisy building work going on opposite. Need new frying pan and non-stick utensils. Nowhere local to recycle ANYTHING!" ~Hazel
