"Pros: Because we were cycling and needed a rest between the next stop, location was great. When we followed booking.com map it took us to the wrong place. Luckily our hostess was available and messaged us the correct route and met us outside. This is by the jr station near the ESOS gas station. Right behind. There are no convenience stores so make sure you pack some food. She was so kind to help us by preparing a beautiful dinner with tuna sashimi and a whole crab! We were so grateful for her kindness. She also shared a bottle of red wine to celebrate my birthday! Breakfast was also delicious.
Cons: Because I use the restroom often going up and down the stairs was a little tough but it was like being in someones home so it was fine." ~Jodie
"Pros: It was … unusual. it was like being in a secondhand shop of amusement park curiosities. Not the room, but the … “office” and entrance. Unusual but not in a negative sense.
As I was on a bicycle tour of northern Japan the guest house’s location was perfect. It was located almost halfway between my previous night’s stay in Shiraoi and my next night’s stay in Hakodate.
Cons: No substantial dislikes." ~Scott
"Pros: If you’re a tourist, and you’re staying in Oshamanbe, it’s because you want to see smalltown Japan. From that perspective, there’s no better option than Guest House Sakai. It’s an bedroom in an old, run-down house- not luxurious by any means, but really shows you what it’s like.
Cons: My only major complaint were the bugs. There were quite a few (living and dead) in both the bedroom and bathroom." ~Paul
