"Pros: We stayed from 11/6/24-22/6/24 in room 502.
We arrived at 11pm check in at reception was slow considering it was just the two of us, the gentleman checking us in stopped dealing with us to deal with another customer who obviously was already staying there, instead of completing our check in and making the customer wait in turn.
We where then taken into the restaurant for a cool drink and a sandwich (which was dry and tasteless), drink was very welcome though.
We where then directed out of the back of the hotel down to the Villa Mare, no offer with help with our cases at all, we where hot and tired after travelling (two mature ladies).
First impressions of the room very clean, we had a very large king size bed and bunk beds, the room was on the ground floor and was very quiet, the room had a fridge, kettle and tv, the bathroom which was very small was more than adequate, the shower was powerful and we never ran out of hot water, there was a hairdryer which although not very powerful it was fine for us, there where complimentary shower gel and shampoo little bottles, plenty of toilet roll.
The cleaner came in everyday to empty the bins, replenish the toilet roll, clean towels left and clean sheets/pillowcases changed if required. Air conditioning was fabulous and kept the room nice and cool, especially as it was 40c outside.
The walk from Villa Mare to the main hotel Delfinia Resort Hotel was literally a couple of minutes.
The entertainment at Delfinia Resort Hotel is basically non existent, which was such a shame. (this would have made our stay a lot more enjoyable had there been nightly entertainment)
All Inclusive, breakfast was fine, lunchtime and evening meals not to our taste, very few English people, although that did not bother us in the slightest it did have an impact on the food provided (catered more for, polish, Slovakian, Croatian customers).
Cons: The lack of entertainment at the Delfinia Resort Hotel.
The king size bed had the hardest mattress with double dips, well past it’s use by date, the pillows where particularly bad, I asked for new ones and was told “no new one’s available”, I actually was in pain with my neck on the plane home after enduring 11 nights of no support from the pillows.
The TV and/or satellite did not work at all, so don’t expect it (I would have liked it to have worked as no hotel entertainment and because I was unwell).
The pool around the Villa Mare would have absolutely perfect if only it was looked after and cleaned properly, the maintenance staff came round every morning and topped the pool up with a hose pipe, although I think this was because they have filtering problems, there was a lot of scum around the side of the pool, which was off putting.
The day beds around the small pool are really comfortable with large pillows, however these where not cleaned once during our stay and the pillows and day beds are heavily stained.
The little snack bar at Villa Mare was closed during our stay, as we where all inclusive I think at least soft drinks/fruit could have been provided that guests could enjoy not necessarily having to be staffed.
We purchased soft drinks from the little shop on the corner, placed in our fridge just so we didn’t have to go to Delfinia Resort Hotel for a cooling drink during the heat of the day. lol
Normally, we would be out and about on our holiday but I was unwell the whole stay with sinus and chest infection, whilst this was not the Villa Mares or Delfinia Resort Hotels doing, I did not feel well enough to go out of an evening, but would have liked to have been entertained.
Only one night we had 2 ladies doing a tribute to “ABBA” we did enjoy that.
Would we stay here again, as much as we liked the tranquility of Villa Mares little pool I do not think we would return." ~Alison
