"Pros: We had an executive room which was large with a comfortable bed, a spacious bathroom and balcony with terrace. Definitely worth paying the extra for the larger room. Great location, close to the lake, cathedral, walking street etc. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room was tidied with fresh towels each day without us even needing to request. Cons: The hotel has a small lobby that could do with a little refresh to give a better first impression. There is no real lounge/bar area to relax in so we were glad that we had chosen an executive room. It would be good if recommendations for tours could be done after gaining access to the room. When tired from travelling, you just want to get to your room to freshen up and relax. Tour information could be provided later. The lighting in the room was odd, either very bright or very dim. Switches to operate were difficult to reach from the bed and confusing to operate. The lighting in the bathroom was poor and the bathroom was quite tired in general. Needs a little smartening up - new sealant and grouting. The cleaners do a great job but can only do so much to make a room look pristine. Shower area is extremely slippery when wet - be warned. Could have done with some shade on the balcony, a canopy or parasol. We would have loved to have made better use of this but it was simply too hot to use in May/June without shade. Also, when choosing an executive room be warned that you will be sited close to the breakfast room located on the rooftop of the hotel. There can be quite a lot of noise as people make their way to breakfast (starting at 7am) via the lift on Level 9. Note that there are 15 steps from the lift on Level 9 to Level 10 (where they serve breakfast). It is not fully accessible via a lift." ~Jayne
