"Pros: We loved the Christmas tree and decorations they were a lovely touch. House was clean warm and welcoming... Location was perfect for visiting family in the area" ~Lindsay
"Pros: This C18 Saddleworth farmhouse is a real find. It has been beautifully restored and decorated. It is 3 minutes walk from the central Conservation Area of Dobcross with the Swan Pub (excellent food, warmth and welcome). The house was wonderfully warm during a cold and wet winter week. Sitting by the Aga in a farmhouse kitchen after an afternoon on the moors of the Peak District (which adjoins Dobcross on 2 sides) or exploring the Pennine mill villages and hill settlements is a delight. The Huddersfield Narrow Canal is 2 minutes away on foot. There are hourly buses through Dobcross and a lovely walk along the Delph Donkey ex railway to Greenfield Station which connects Huddersfield and Manchester. The Pennine Way is accessible either by a good walk or 5 minute drive as is the stunning Dove Stone area within the National Park. Marsden and Stalybridge (the next rail stops through the tunnel on the way to Huddersfield) on the east of the Pennines are stunning mill towns and well worth a visit.
Cons: I wish that I could have stayed longer." ~Robert
