"Pros: Booked at very short notice on a self catering basis and this holiday cottage adjoining a pub-hotel was available at a good price. It was explained at check in that breakfast was included, which was a nice surprise as we were not aware of this when making the booking. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and gave a great explanation of the cottage and hotel facilities and nearby local amenities. The property had plenty of clean linen for our weekend stay and the beds were warm and comfy. The cottage is very close to Bike Park Wales, which was the purpose of our visit, making it ideal for anyone looking for an overnight stay location if visiting the bike park. Cons: The front entrance was overgrown with weeds and full of litter, this made a poor first impression and could be easily remedied as it wouldnt take much to sort out. The cottage is quite small and although it can technically sleep up to six persons I believe this would be a struggle in reality. It looks to be well used and could do with some basic maintenance to tidy things up a bit. Hot water in the bathroom shower was a bit hit and miss, this was easily manageable during our stay though. The issue was reported to staff at checkout time so that it could be looked into before the next guests arrived. A washing machine would have been nice to clean kit at the end of a day's riding, likewise some secure bicycle storage could be provided. Similar holiday cottages in the area offer these facilities." ~Graham
