"Pros: Loaction is just off the A9 and therefore the NC500.
Chalet Bungalow not long since being refurbished. Warm and inviting. 3 couples, 2 grandchildren and 3 small dogs easily found room and settled. in.
Stunning views of Dingwall.
Dingwall nearest town about 4 miles away
Singleton Distillery is in the next village approx 4 miles
Good central location so Inverness, Loch Ness, Cullodden and Balmoral within driving distances.
Balmoral something to behold well worth the visit.
Train station at Dingwall so great if you dont want to drive.
Dingwall plenty of shops, the Mallard pub (in railway station) was great for a pint and a spot of lunch.
Dingwall home of Ross County football club sadly no match on whilst we stayed.
Inverness, great for shopping, has a miniture railway but was closed when we went. Lovely castle obscured by some gross modernist architecture from the 70s. Pretty little City though.
October is a great month to go as the Autumn leaves were in prominence and the highlands do give New England a run for its money.
Roads are in a state that we rarely see in England (well maintained and a distinct lack of potholes and litter).
People are very freindly and welcoming.
Cons: The bungalow is near a road, not a main road so the traffic is very sparce. If you have dogs then they need to be supervised whilst in the gardens. That said there is plenty of garden for the dogs to get a short exercise." ~Robert
"Pros: Beautiful interior design with lovely finishes. Everything was so carefully put together and the artwork in the cottage and surrounds; stunning!
Spectacular views from every room, private and surrounded by tranquil gardens.
Cons: Nothing, it was all perfect. Would have been good to have a bit more info on the property’s history but found out a lot about the castle and its artistic legacy on the internet." ~Jennifer
