"Pros: My husband and I stayed in Tench, it was lovely and close to the lake for fishing and wildlife watching, there was everything you needed and more in and outside the hut,Mark met us on arrival and told us everything we needed to know he came to the lake while we were fishing to see if we had everything we needed and to make sure we were ok, we are already trying to sort dates to return. "Pros: First of all, Geraldine and Mark were amazing hosts. Geraldine was extremely good at communicating prior to our stay. She answered lots of questions and let us check in earlier than is standard. We were met by Mark when we got there who is so clearly in love with the place, the wildlife and is extremely encouraging of the experience of the guests. He regularly checked in, brought my partner fish food, gave us camp chairs to use when fishing by the lake and was happy to talk us through any questions we had. I couldn’t fault them one bit. They made the stay wonderful. We stayed in Perch hut, which was beautiful. A bit more secluded than the other huts, with basically a lake to ourselves. The hut had everything you needed for a self catering stay, it also had a bathroom in there, it’s small but that is to be expected. The bed was extremely comfy, and the terrace looked out onto the most gorgeous view. We saw a woodpecker who would come to the bird feeders in the morning whilst having a coffee in bed, truly idyllic. The fishing was exceptional. The fish looked extremely well cared for, and the lake is bursting with them. In a day and a half we must have caught over 20 fish, of all sizes. After a long day sitting by the lake fishing, we built a fire in the outdoor fire pit, drank rose and made a lovely dinner. The next morning Mark greeted us with warm rolls and croissants.
