"Pros: On the first day of arriving, we saw the 2 deers outside from the veranda. That was beautiful. The furniture and the size of the rooms were great! Very clean and comfortable. Felt right at home. Our little girl enjoyed it so much. Most of the beds were very comfortable except the twin beds which were a little dated.
The kitchen had all the appliances and more that you could ever need. The location was spot on and conveniently next door to the Beatrix Potter Museum, great if you have little ones.
Great views from the balcony, very quiet and relaxing area. The ambience of the property is top-notch!
Cons: The toilet in the shower room is still broken. We read about this from some years ago and it still remains the same now. Could use 2 frying pans instead of 1."

"Pros: Location was superb. Bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in.
Cons: Bathroom was very tiny. Property is advertised as being 1560 sq ft but that is wrong. There are 34 steps up to the apt - wasnt a problem but would have been good to know beforehand. Parking is communal parking at the top of the hill not at the apartment itself - again wasn't a problem although spaces were very tight but would have liked to know in advance."

Holly Cottage is a well-established guest house and family home in the centre of Bowness-on-Windermere within the conservation area of the oldest part of the village. The building dates back to the 17th century and is situated in the centre of Bowness within a few minutes walk of shops, restaurants, pubs & cafes, next door to a large public car park & five minutes away from Windermere Lake. It offers a range of 6 individually styled rooms. The guests can benefit from USB charging point, Smart TV & Mini fridges in most rooms. Holly Cottage offers Tea & Coffee making facilities with fresh milk & biscuits in on all the rooms. Their communal kitchen is now open with all the cooking facilities, fridge & utensils, at your disposal.
This property will not accommodate hen, stag or similar parties. The guest house does not accept group bookings of more than 2 rooms. Please note that no food is available.
