"Pros: Really friendly staff and locals , great food with out any frills. Breakfast was good and well cooked. The couple running it were very welcoming and evening meal with a few drinks really good value. It's under new management which I guessed , the room was a bit "tired" but spotless. Apparantly they're going to refurb the rooms anyway. Cons: Bed was a bit uncomfortable and there was only instant coffee at breakfast - neither are show stoppers and I'd stop there anytime to break my journey north." ~Adrian

"Pros: Loved our stay at smithy cottage, the cottage is as described, has everything you could need and cleaned to an exceptional standard. The cottage is in a lovely quiet village with great walks, shop next door and a village pub across the road. The hosts are fantastic." ~Russell
