"Pros: Location was in Mews apartment across river from Crown and Cushion itself - about 5 minute walk from town centre. Apartment very well equipped, modern, clean well furnished. Bed comfortable,. Staff at Crown friendly and helpful. Dinner at Crown and Cushion was very good, well cooked, generous portions. Location of Crown in centre of town very handy for local attractions, Appleby Castle, leisure facilities, historic Alms Houses and churches etc. Good centre for touring if required. Riverside walks, Cons: Disc parking in Appleby 2-3 hours depending on location, so parking near Mews and in town not always available, information on alternative locations provided by Crown. No parking at Mews itself. Mews on located main through road so could be busy with traffic , but did not cause us any problem." ~Alan
