"Pros: Wow, this may well be the nicest place I’ve stayed at in my 25+ years of travel for sheer style and space. We had the Alyssa room which is more of a hall than room with high ceilings and a loft bed. It looks like a palace and it’s clear the owner had a vision of this place and how to restore it tastefully. The 2 courtyards are perfect as is the pool/lounge area upstairs. But the star is the breakfast which is incredible- all kinds of homemade jams, procured cheeses, pastries, berries, strawberry smoothie and some surprise each day like a quiche. My French is poor so the communication was minimal but the staff are very kind and helpful. One even helped me find parking and an atm to get money to pay. It’s perfectly located in Monastir center, walking distance from the ribat and port. Glad we stayed here than more hectic Sousse. Easy day trips to El Jem and Kairouan. Cons: Loved everything, but taking credit card payment would be helpful. Our bank would t arrange foreign transfers so we had to do 4 atm withdrawals to get enough cash to pay." ~Dan
