"Pros: Room directly on the water/mangroves with ebb and flow experience. Great terrace with a view of Mangoven and the sea. Place is small, quiet and has everything you need: 3 restaurants, supermarket, washing machine, lovely neighbors, nature sounds. Poo, the owner, is super nice, helpful and always available. Her fridge is stocked with cold beer, water, sodas and Schweppes. She surprises us with sweets in the morning or fresh fruit and she has the best tips for excursions and beaches. Poo is great and her house with its 3 guest rooms is a real feel-good place for anyone looking for peace and quiet and who wants to explore the island by scooter (which Poo organizes). The nearest town with market and bars and stores and supermarket and even more restaurants is a 7 minute drive away. Cons: We enjoyed everything!" ~Stephanie

"Pros: If you are looking for sustainable tourism, community owned and managed accommodations, and your money, as a tourist, going back to the local community and not to big tourists operators from other parts of the country, this is the place to be! Namm Nathawn is part of the sustainable tourism network of Koh Yao Noi, one of the oldest experience in Thailand of community based sustainable tourism, 20 years old. Namm Nathawn is not on the coast line, but inland, in the middle of paddy fields and it really gives a flavour of Thai countryside life. The best bungalows found so far in Thai islands! Very simple and basic, no AC no hot water, but very well built with a super comfy bed and a nice lay out with a porch facing the paddy fields with plenty of grazing buffalos. The bungalows and restaurant are very clean, the food is really nice. The ladies managing the resort are really nice and helpful. The overall atmosphere is very relaxed, great chill out and disconnection." ~Pier

"Pros: Lovely breakfast and generous. Kind and gracious staff. Beautiful view. Appreciated the extra touches for my birthday as well as the logistics of picking me up at pier, organizing a private island tour for me, late (free) checkout) and organizing a taxi to bring me back from the pier. Smooth and easy -- I am grateful. Cons: The hotel stay was perfect. The private island tour with "Rocky" -- organized by hotel -- was fun and a good value. What I didn't like? The town itself is ridiculously overpriced. Like, crazy. Dresses that sell for 400 baht in Kamala (Phuket) were being sold for 1000 baht in the downtown tourist trap area!?!
