"Pros: This hotel was beyond expectations. The owner has done well to deliver a fantastic experience. We were greeted by very energetic and friendly reception staff who made us feel like friends immediately. The road to get to the hotel was very challenging, but the reception made us feel at ease by sharing that it is part of the "charm" of the area, and that the locals would be friendly drivers. They have easy access to the lake, with a private beach, an outdoor sauna and a "self service" bar/icecream stand. The view was STUNNING and the whole staff only added to the entire experience. My whole family came away with positive opinions and experiences.
Cons: The previous reviews do not give the property justice. I hope more people provide reviews like mine, I was hesitant to book when trying to decide on our accommodations because of the mixed reviews. I was so pleasantly surprised by the property, I highly recommend staying at the Seehotel Baumgarten to anyone who may be on the fence."

"Pros: Hands down the location - up on top of the mountain with miraculous views of Lucern, the Lucern lakes and surrounding areas as well as views of the slopping green farming mountains, and finally the snow cape mountains. The venue balances the old with the new well. Finally - the spa is high quality with so many things to do and experience with the highlight the outdoor 35 degree pool with again amazing views.
Cons: Overall everything was amazing - only a few small issues. Getting to the resort is via boat and funicular - we arrived via train into Lucern and raced to the pier to get the boat and at exactly 7 mins passed the hour only to have the boat sail away without us - we then had to wait another hour to get the next boat (noting the next boat we boarded departed 11 mins passed the hour!). The staff on the boat on this occasion were not helpful and bordered on rude. We wonder if there is a better system to allow for hotel guests (given the cost in staying at the hotel) could be better accommodated in this area. Another comment - there is so much to do when at the resort - it would be helpful to perhaps offer a butler service to guests who want to optimize their stay - a butler service could allow for this and help plan the stay. Final comment - many of the restaurants were closed and really cater for weekend guests / visits - which was disappointing."
