There is a kind of quality that comes with 5-stars and a uniformed concierge, and then there is that deep, detailed all-encompassing quality that comes from the heart, from understanding and from personal care. The second is what we experienced. The building is an authentic old structure that has been lovingly restored with care to an incredibly high standard throughout, and our lovely hosts radiated that same all-round gentle care to their guests. The exquisite tea service, the amazing spa, the superlative breakfast, friendly welcome… we heartily recommend this place Cons: The bus does not run as frequently or as late into the evening as you might like to the train station.
