"Pros: Wonderful apartment with views over Lake Maggiore from the terrace.
Cons: Beware. we took a bus to the closest bus stop and then there was about 140 steps up to the road in front of the apartment. The lift was out of order so there were a further 150 steps up to the apartment. But the apartment was worth the climb."

"Pros: This boutique hotel is in a lovely quiet location overlooking Locarno. The free bus down into town stops right outside & there is a fantastic restaurant next door. The rooms are spacious & well appointed, & our balcony had an amazing view over the lake. The owner & staff were very friendly & helpful. Breakfast buffet was great, with hot options cooked to order. An amazingly relaxing place to stay.
