"Pros: We stayed in the penthouse suite, which included an additional upper floor with a double bed. While this bed was smaller than the master bed, it did have a mosquito net—unlike the master, which might be confusing for some guests. A heads-up: I banged my leg quite hard on the master bed frame, as it juts out more than expected—left with quite a bruise, so do be careful! That said, both beds were very comfortable.
The suite itself is spacious and features additional seating, which was great for relaxing. A full-length mirror is placed behind the seating area, which felt like an odd choice—it would have been more practical elsewhere.
The bathroom was a good size, though it did get quite warm as there’s no air conditioning in there. It has a large corner shower, and complimentary shower gel and shampoo were provided.
The balcony offers a beautiful view overlooking the beach and the restaurant. While the view is lovely, noise from the restaurant can travel up—earplugs helped with that.
Housekeeping was consistent, with the room tidied daily, fresh towels provided, and complimentary water bottles restocked. There’s also a kettle with tea and coffee available in the room.
Breakfast was generous, with a good selection of bread, pastries, and a bowl of fresh fruit—though it’s the same each day. You can choose from various egg styles, or opt for a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast, which needs to be ordered the day before. The juices were especially nice.
Overall, I’d recommend the stay. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout.
Cons: There were a few minor inconveniences during our stay. The room had limited wall sockets, which made it a bit tricky to charge multiple devices. The full-length mirror was oddly placed behind the sofa, making it impractical to use. The TV didn’t work during our stay, and the internet connection was quite unreliable in the room—though it worked much better in the reception area." ~Yen
