"Pros: The location is inland, about 1km from the beach and 2km to Unawatuna. It's very peaceful, surrounded by jungle with monkeys in the trees and lots of beautiful birds, the occasional Monitor lizard ambling around, chipmunks. Just idyllic. As it was monsoon season there were few guests but the staff were just excellent - can't fault them. They arranged a very early morning visit (leave at 4am) to Udawalawe to see majestic elephants and so much other wildlife. Galle is about 8km away, an easy Tuk Tuk ride. It's my third time to Sri Lanka - it's a beautiful country with wonderful people, food, wildlife. We knew we would be visiting in monsoon season so were expecting rain and it made everything so lush and vibrant. I'm not in to sun bathing but to sit by the beach and watch the crashing waves of the Indian Ocean is wonderful - and also to think that when you're looking out to sea - looking south - the next land is Antarctica. What a thought."
