"Pros: Fabulous little resort, beautiful setting in a coconut grove, pretend camping in tented thatched cabin with all amenities. Only abt 9 cabins. In addition to regular shower bathroom, your own outside garden shower with refreshing cool water was fun. Small menu with everything cooked to order; food was delicious, Sri Lankan and fresh fish. Beautiful little infinity pool, lots of places to sit and enjoy the sunset. Staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. Baked my husband a chocolate cake for his bday and the boss gave us a complimentary bottle of wine. Hotel has own boat to take you out to see the dolphins - in their hundreds! Will book car etc for safari in Wilpattu for you. It is a LOCAL beach - no sunbeds anywhere, no touts, a little scruffy in places because it is natural and used by local fishermen. It is quiet with hardly any other resorts around. There are, as described online, wind turbines along the beach, inc close to the resort, but they did not bother us at all, and the nearby power station is likewise not in any way problematic. It's an easy 3 hour car journey from the airport. Would highly recommend for a simple quiet stay with access to dolphins and Wilpattu.
Cons: Sunbeds and tables etc by the pool could have been given a scrub before we arrived. Would have been nice if they'd had yoga or similar sessions (they had an activity room but nothing happening, but there simply aren't enough guests to make it worth their while I guess. This management used to have two other resorts along the beach but these are currently closed since covid, altho plans are afoot to reopen them after renovation)." ~Jan
