"Pros: As a family of 5 with 3 young children the staff at the Kalla Bongo were incredibly helpful and accommodating, particularly the manager Chandana who went out of his way to meet each of our requests and to ensure that we had a fantastic start to our Sri Lankan holiday. The peaceful resort has a beautiful setting on Hikkaduwa Lake with canoes which could be borrowed. The pool was lovely, clean and well-maintained and our kids spent a lot of time in there. The resort is only a short (5mins) tuktuk ride from the main town of Hikkaduwa and the nearest beach. Each morning we were served a very delicious and generously portioned breakfast of fruits, eggs, toast, jams, pancakes etc and each evening we ordered a tasty dinner from the on-site restaurant. We were so well looked after and when we visit Sri Lanka again we will definitely be staying at the Kalla Bongo!" ~Mike

"Pros: we chose the property due to its beautiful gardens, and it did not disappoint. it was a quiet haven away from the busy centre of Hikkaduwa but also close by enough! it was very tranquil. the staff were very friendly. We had breakfast included and went for the srilankan breakfast each day which was wonderful, the portions were huge! they helped us rent a scooter and were the best place we've stayed in in Sri Lanka, jungle vibes with clean rooms and Sir Lanka vibe but also modern enough!
