"Pros: The location was quite close to the centre of Ella (15 mins walk). The hostess was really sweet, she said she upgraded us to a nicer room as we were supposed to be downstairs. She also brought us tea upon arrival and in the morning which was a nice surprise considering we weren’t supposed get anything in the morning. The view is also very pretty from the accommodation at the top and there is a nice table and chairs outside of the room which was for us to use! Due to this shared terrace space and the tea, we actually made some really nice friends who we ended up meeting up with throughout our stay. However, we technically weren’t supposed to have this room so I worry how much better it would’ve been from our original room. Cons: Sadly the sheets and towels really did not smell very clean, and the pillows were probably some of the most uncomfortable pillows I’ve slept on. The shower is only cold and since our stay was actually very rainy, it was less than ideal. The bathroom shelving was quite dirty and the flooring in the bathroom is black so hard to tell how well it was cleaned. I really hope this was just a one off as the host is really sweet." ~Crowley

"Pros: The reception, welcome, room itself and service was very nice, the views from our type of room was incredible, the touch of nature is amazing, everybody tried to be nice and very helpful, the quality of the food at the dinner was nice, even the chef came over to ask about the taste, and with nice live music, the spa and views they offered been one of the best i have ever experienced Cons: during the dinner some drunk lady tried to sing karaoke and interrupted live music which was disaster, for a while it was fun, but then it happened again and nobody stopped her, you do not pay this price per night to be bothered by guest which cannot behave, and secondly even worse was the quality of the breakfast - at the special rate 50usd they charge roll-out breakfast and it was the worst breakfast experience in whole sri lanka, we booked the breakfast for 9.00am, they came 8.45 like we came to prepare the room, nobody informed us they will come sooner or whatever, so we quickly rushed to get ready for somebody to come-in, they came later again but the food they served was served low warm, and not exactly what we ordered, and the taste was average, really pity for this place" ~Lukas

"Pros: We loved our stay here. The hostess and her family are so so lovely, did everything to help us, and the breakfast is the best we had in Sri Lanka. It was just a shame we couldn't eat it all! It's a 30-40 minute walk from Ella town up a hill, so be prepared for that, but we loved the fact that it was more remote and quiet. The view from the balcony is gorgeous and you can walk easily to the Nine Arch bridge as well. They were happy to drive us to Diyaluma Falls as well. Cons: Nothing - we loved it." ~Emily
