"Pros: Fantastic central location, close to La Plaza del Cabildo, lots of great bars and restaurants, shops, the food market and bodegas... and an easy walk to the beach.
The host, Daniel was always quick to reply to messages and gave us a warm and friendly welcome as well as coming to see us off.
The apartment was spacious, very clean and beautifully decorated and styled and the kitchen was well-equipped. The bed was very comfortable and the main bathroom was elegant. Having a dedicated garage space nearby was really useful.
Cons: The bedrooms had windows onto an internal, tiled patio which was very pretty but the other rooms looked onto unattractive light wells. Being on the ground floor and interior, most rooms were very dark so we had to rely on artificial light, even during the day... and apart from one small lamp which fell apart when moved, the rest of the lighting was very bright, overhead lighting. I can survive without outside space but it was hard being cut off from daylight in such a sunny place.
We stayed for ten days during a cold spell in January and I feel the cold a lot, so I'd double checked to make sure the apartment included heating. Unfortunately it wasn't central heating but an AC unit in the living room that also doubled as a heater, plus a small electric fan heater that couldn't be left on at night because it was noisy and couldn't be used in the bathroom. So the apartment felt cold when we came back in the evenings and when we woke up in the morning and it took a while to heat up. (Obviously this wouldn't be an issue for most of the year). And, like a lot of old buildings, it also smelled a bit damp and one of the two bathrooms didn't smell so nice."
