"Pros: The house is very comfortable and tidy and has a nice garden area with a view of the ocean. It is also in a convenient central location for the western part of the island, close to the main road with great access to the house itself. Cons: The house was, surprisingly enough, very close to a newly built second house (from the same owners), without updating the photos or mentioning it. Bright (LED) flood lights are installed everywhere, ruining the night sky. Sadly, it shows the owners primarily focus on the Western-European way of comfort, style and luxury, instead of preserving the properties that make La Palma a unique destination in the world. Although you can disable them in your own house, the outdoor-lights of the new neighboring house were used daily, which makes the location unusable for any form of astronomy for the large part. This could be easily improved and with better (subtle and smart) lighting it would be a 10/10 house. Another surprise was how heavily the area is populated by barking guard dogs. They trigger each other and often bark non-stop at night." ~Jp

"Pros: Our stay at Casa Rodri was very pleasant, thanks in large part to the welcoming and communicative host. The house is spacious and well-equipped. Everything we needed was provided, and we never felt that anything was lacking. The jacuzzi was already prepared for us upon arrival and worked perfectly, adding a nice touch of relaxation. Self check-in and check-out were straightforward and convenient. The internet connection was reliable throughout our stay, which we appreciated. Cons: When we arrived, the house was quite cold. Although heating is available via the air conditioning system, the house had likely been unoccupied and unheated for some time, so it took a while to reach a comfortable temperature. Finding the property was also a bit challenging. We only located it on the second attempt, despite using a navigation system. Thankfully, the owner’s directions were very clear and helpful. The driveway can be tricky in the late afternoon when the sun is directly in your eyes. Caution is needed when approaching the house. One area that could be improved is the mattress. It was clean but clearly worn and in need of replacement. Finally, while outside the owner's control, we had to contend with a very persistent stray cat (nicknamed “Pop-up Window”). It frequently tried to enter the house and car and was quite vocal whenever it spotted us. Though we love animals, the cat’s presence became a minor nuisance, especially since we were concerned it might scratch our rental car. The owner apologized to us for the inconvenience and we thank her for that. We felt as though there was nothing really that she could have done about that, but it was annoying to us." ~Ivica
