"Pros: The position of the hotel is exceptional, on the cliffs overseeing the ocean with fantastic sunsets and La Gomera in the back. The sound of the waves and the power of the wind render this location unique and recharging. Reading by the pool and swimming with such a view is unique. The rooms on the ground floor with a side view to the sea, have a nice balcony and are large. Also the bathroom is large. Overall the hotel is very silent, and guests very respectful. The hotel personnel has been very attentive and caring, understanding our needs.
Cons: The first room assigned to us, number 1, on the ground floor was problematic. It shares the wall with the cleaning personnel room, it can thus be noisy, it faces certain ugly outer stairs, and from the balcony to your left you could see two large condo dustbins. The bed was not prepared as a queen size bed as requested in advance and we had to wait a day for it to be arranged. Some pillows were a bit smelly. Thanks to the help of the very kind and caring hotel personnel, we were offered room 11 which was much better in every sense, though slightly smaller. Unfortunately, mattresses are very soft and really uncomfortable, and pillows are rather small. Though there was no need for it, A/C is not present in those rooms. As to the cleanliness, I had to request additional services in both rooms, including as to the balcony. The area of the bar next to the pool was also not cleaned properly. The shutters, the window doors are quite old, and almost zero maintenance is done. The same can be said for the drawers of the kitchen in room 11. I fixed myself the closing of the clothes drawers. Our fridge in room 11 was replaced as the small wheel to regulate the temperature was gone. It was much appreciated. Very basic shampoo and soap are to be found in the restroom. No welcome water is offered (tab water is not for drink), and not even a filter for the coffee was present upon arrival. Strangely enough, umbrellas for sunbeds are for rent! This is not acceptable for a 4 stars hotel, and is also unhealthy. The tennis court is for rent. Beach towels are also for rent, but were given to us for free as well as the safe."
