"Pros: We stayed at the Lion Cabin, and we couldn’t have been happier: you can literally see the lions (and what lions they are! Mkulu and Kuluma look like movie stars with perfect, shiny fur - and its a joy to see how much they enjoy each others company) from your porch and from your bed, not to mention hear them roar in the late evening and early morning (and sometimes in the middle of the night, which we absolutely loved). The room itself is tastefully decorated and have a fully equipped kitchen, but it’s hard to stay inside with so much to see. We enjoyed sitting on the bench in front of the lions sleeping area in the evening and morning, and the view from the café by the reception and shop is also great, overlooking a pond with marabou storks and several other species (and the lattes are lovely, by the way). Dinner and breakfast were tasteful and plentiful and served at the boma area where, if you’re lucky, you may spot both the leopard and the cheetahs. They have large and very well kept living areas, which of course also means you won’t necessarily see them.
We also enjoyed a tour on the premises with Davidson, and it was everything we could have wanted: great photo opportunities of all the cats in addition to meerkats, birds and tortoises, lots of information about both the animals and the work done here, and laughs on top of it. Thank you so much, Davidson!" ~Torkil
