"Pros: The view from the house is simply amazing 😍. The host was friendly and helpful, we loved the homemade fig jam, tomatoes from the garden, cheese and other simple welcome items left for us. Everything we needed was in the kitchen and more. We made good use of the BBQ. And for the brave, the outdoor shower worked better than the indoor one. The house obviously had history and I would have loved to know more about it and its former residents. But mostly we spent many hours sitting out the front enjoying the views of Sao Jorge, Pico and the Ocean. The natural pool just down the hill was lovely, easy to access and full of pretty fish. Cons: Small things, but the beds (which I am guessing are traditional and old) were very small, more of a slightly wider single. It meant that me and my husband could not share a bed and we found them uncomfortable (as tall adults). It was hot and humid on our visit which also made sleeping difficult, some kind of air-conditioning or bedroom fans would definitely make sleeping a bit easier." ~Nicky

"Pros: The host very kindly left a welcome gift of wine, cheese and bread. The house had nice decorations on the walls and was quite large for two people. Cons: There was mold in one of the downstairs bedrooms, and there was no wifi. The bed was also very hard and had a high spot in the middle, which meant that we each rolled towards the edges of the bed." ~Lea

"Pros: The house was amazing! The best of views. I was upgraded due to an issue with the smaller unit I had reserved. The wood pellet fireplace was easy to use and kept me toasty. The Cagarras entertained me at night with their flights and songs. The staff knew and addressed me by name. The little biscuits in the house were delicious, as was the dinner I enjoyed at Magma. I spent an entire day just lounging at the house because it was so spectacular! Cons: The driveway can be a bit slippery on foot due to loose rocks and the slopes are steep, but that’s par for the Azores!" ~Tamara
