"Pros: Some distance from the town centre and up very steep roads, but on a main Bus route that was less than a couple of euro's to get to the centre or Bolt or Uber around 9 euros or local taxi around 13 which is quicker and might be best for more people. So very easy to get in and out of town which we did every night for meals. There's a great shopping centre with a very large supermarket that provides everything you could want up a couple of local paths. House was very clean, in a nice area and with a great view. Beds were really comfortable as well. A few handy supplies such as coffee pods and wash stuff were also provided as well as all the eating and cooking appliances and pots and pans you could want. Worked perfectly for myself and daughter for our walking holiday. We had problems with the front gate which was quickly fixed with a new lock. Public transport is very good on the island and often cheaper than parking at the main attractions if you can even find a spot. We considered hiring a car but managed easily without one. We picked Funchal as most trips are run from there and we did a couple. But there's something to be said for just getting a taxi to the start of a walk and back. And there's also the bus if they're busy in most cases. We didn't use the outdoor facilities of the house, but they looked nice.
Cons: Communication was good but sometimes answers weren't in English so it was google translate or didn't understand. I found the microwave confusing even with the manual downloaded. It was touch controls that didn't seem to respond. Also an idea to keep the bathroom window open which still has a secure shutter on the outside when showering as it can get damp otherwise with wet towels. Wasn't able to sort a pickup from the airport but it was very easy to get a taxi."

Great shower! (we didn't use the second shower downstairs).
There's nothing worse than a bad night's sleep so it's great when you discover a really comfortable bed! Too marks Angelo!
If you're visiting to walk Levadas, there's a great walk heading west from the shopping centre, or walk into Funchal via the urban lavada passing through santa Rita firm the hill and get a taxi back (€7/8 via the bolt app).

Tap water is drinkable so no need to carry bottled water from the nearby supermarket in the shopping centre.
Coffee machine is a dolce gousto.
Food deliveries available via Bolt food app. Other than shopping centre eateries, there's not much more available locally without heading further afield. We ate at the restaurant in the Old radio station, twas OK but nothing amazing.
Wonderful outdoor spaces with multiple seating areas surrounded by Angelo's many banana trees. We were lucky enough to receive a few samples - damn good! 🤩
Can't add much more, if you see this house available, book it! It won't remain available for long and I truly doubt you'll get a better house for the money.
