"Pros: This is a beautifully renovated property in a charming rural location. The property and outdoor space are immaculately clean and tidy. The property is cleverly divided allowing use by one family or a group of friends or family, who could share outdoor areas but have completely separate areas of accommodation, each with its own kitchen, sitting area, bedroom, bathroom. The outdoor space is very well thought out with a main eating area on a large terrace directly outside the kitchen and another smaller area up by the pool with stunning views of the mountains. We enjoyed sitting there for breakfast in the sun, or in the shade of the parasol on a sunny afternoon. The swimming pool is absolutely beautiful and finished to a very high standard. There's good parking directly outside. There are lovely walks just outside the property to 'Castelo de Arnoia' and lovely nearby woodland trails. Many of the North Portugal sights are around a 60-90 minute drive away. Our particular favourites were: the suspension bridge and Paiva walkway in Arouca, Braga and Ponte de Lima. Cons: The lovely cobbled streets mean occassional night time traffic is quite loud but the majority of the time it's very peaceful. The external doorways are quite low so if you are very tall remember to bend down to avoid bumping your head." ~Tony

"Pros: We loved our stay at Joao and Rosalinho's place. The house is absolutely amazing with a great garden and a good size swimming pool. There are only 2 rooms for rent therefore it will never get too busy and you can enjoy the privacy. You will share the kitchen, the dinning-room and the living room with the owners but don't worry you will feel at home. The outdoor space is also very big and everyone will find a place for oneself. Rosalinho and Joao are adorable and always there to make your every wish come true. The breakfasts were extremely delicious and home quality. You can also order some food and the owners will turn their garden into a wonderful restaurant. There is not enough words to thank them for our stay. We hope to come back very soon." ~Aglexi

"Pros: A Casa dos Avós is a gorgeous house. We loved every minute of our stay there. The house is spacious, perfect for 2 families and kids. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the garden and pool are perfect for barbecuing and enjoying the lovely weather. It is close to restaurants and shops(10min with car). The area is beautiful, with lots of nice restaurants, walks, and wineries. We did not want to leave! Nuno is an amazing host, very helpful and responsive." ~Alexandra

"Pros: The location was perfect, in the middle of nature, peaceful but at a small drive to Celorico or Mondim, beautiful towns where we found all that we needed. The the hosts were very nice and accomodated all our needs. Cons: The open kitchen (that is super well equiped and lovely) and for us it was not a problem because it was summer and we have done all our activities outside. But in winter would be harder to manage cooking and group dinamics in the same space." ~Maria
