"Pros: The property exceeded our expectations, it's truly gorgeous. It's a very well appointed family home, unlike sterile holiday lets. Despite the language barrier, we received a wonderful welcome from Maxime and were able to communicate easily using google translate. The local wine, oranges, water and pastel de nata pastries were a really lovely touch that we were delighted to receive. There's an extensive outdoor cooking area that includes a charcoal bbq and an electric griddle (we cooked everything on this-so easy) you WILL need a car to stay here, it's about 40 mins to the airport and 10mins from Algarve shopping centre where there is an enormous supermarket that you will find absolutely everything you could possibly need, including speciality foods (vegan, gf etc) saying that the supermarket (5mins walk from property) is very well stocked as well. The garden is beautiful, full of tumbling bourganvelia, grapevines and cacti. There's 6 different outdoor areas to relax both in and out of the sun. The pool is very deep, armpit level at shallow end and over my head at deep end (I'm 5'8") and we travelled with 2 small children so although they were never left unattended, we had them in armbands at all times for peace of mind. There's a separate shower and toilet off the pool area, very handy to access without having to go into the main house. Swimming at night was beautiful too. The aircon around the house was very much appreciated as it was over 30°C at the hottest part of the day in Aug when we stayed.The vast array of TV and movies were very helpful to entertain the children when we headed in out of the heat. We enjoyed morning coffee and pastries around the corner at Pastelria Theresa, where the hardworking owner always wears a smile." ~Jessica

"Pros: Very warm welcome by hosts, lovely house with all conveniences, clean and tastefully decorated rooms, access to barbecue grill, convenient location Cons: The only air conditioning unit in the main room is not adequate to push cool air to the area on the upper level where three people were sleeping. Probably not a big issue most of the time but in July with temperatures outside reaching 30-35 Celsius it was noticeable. But definitely not a huge issue." ~Yuri
