"Pros: Good location next to the new “mall” with department store/groceries/and small food court. We went here several times during our two night stay to visit whale sharks and sumilon island.
Cons: Small rooms, old ac units, dingy bathrooms, even in main building away from road, where sea view was questionable. No location in town is quiet, yet this is next door to a property raising fighting roosters.
But we booked based upon reviews of owners and their helpfulness. They did provide a free breakfast of two eggs and toast, but then charged more than triple the price of a normal taxi or tuktuk to deliver us to whale sharks where we felt we were rudely and without explanation ushered to the front because they made a reservation. In june , at least, this felt unnecessary as lines were small, but those put behind us did grumble. Maybe in high season this is necessary?"
