Because in the spring and summer ants will invade if you are not diligent. Especially on the ground floor and Philippines has this weird thing about having vented windows. That constantly stay open in the bathroom and it lets in all kinds of insects plus it keeps that room moist and hot so keep closed to save your air-conditioning." ~Melick
