"Pros: Breakfast was included (though menu of hot cooked items was basic). The rustic nature of the lodge. The background noise of surf pounding). Walking the beach (not a swimming beach). I also booked a massage (in-room) and that was heavenly. Cons: There were no bicycles to rent - nor any advice re: how to find one. The lagoon one prior reviewer (who was able to borrow a bike) mentioned, well that lagoon proved to be too far for us to walk to (given the amount of water we carried; it is hot & humid and we just did not bring enough water). Another couple reached the lagoon the next day and they told us they clocked it as an 8 mile roundtrip. FYI, don't count on being able to rent/borrow a bike and if you do set out to "hike" to the lagoon, bring lots of water." ~Tessa

"Pros: Situated in a lush garden with a long pool. Very relaxed, nicely made and furnished. Plenty of space to hang out. Beach right in front of the property, you just need to cross the road (which is a euphemism as it is a dirt track full of potholes and puddles), there is very little traffic. Complimentary bikes. And plenty of fauna around. We could watch monkeys at breakfast and found plenty of sloths in the neighbourhood. Staff was very friendly and breakfast homemade and tasty. There are several restaurants in walking distance. Cons: Not so much a didn’t like but a thing you need to be aware of: due to the road conditions it takes about half an hour from the town centre to get there and it will cost twenty dollars one way. So if you want to go exploring the entire island or more you are probably too remote. If you want to primarily chill and explore the immediate neighbourhood on foot or bike or even just hide away in a beautiful spot then it is perfect. Check the season as rainy season apparently comes with high surf." ~Thomas
