"Pros: We drove from Trondheim to Sunndalsøra to experience the region's hiking paths, and spent one night at the Sunndalsøra hotel.
This hotel is adequately located at a point from where it is easy to access the Innerdalen trail by car (20km from the hotel), and another sight worth seeing being the Vinnutrappa mountainside (cirka 6km).
Surrounded by mountains on two sides, the landscape around the hotel is pleasantly unique.
The hotel was composed and pretty silent (month of May not likely to be the tourist season yet though). The room was simple yet had all the basic necessities, fridge included.
We requested an additional bed on a short notice, which the hotel was kind enough to provide.
The hotel breakfast was diverse and sufficient to our needs, including tasty proteinous foods and fresh fruits.
Nearby we found a few grocery stores, that being one or two generic restaurants and a few street food vehicles.
Overall rating 4/5, positive experience and as stated before, a suitable location to spend 1-2 nights to explore the beauty of Norwegian landscapes and trails.
Cons: The town itself felt a bit dormant. In addition to the above mentioned food and grocery joints, not much more to be seen, just one lottery parlor wich was a bit depressing." ~Jaarinen
