"Cons: Nice accommodation with a couple of quibbles: a sticky lock on the front door which could take up to five minutes to lock. Time to get a new one? Or just give a squirt of CRC? And some of the table knives had handles which were sharper than the blades. I'm all for budget shopping, but cutlery that is comfortable to use wouldn't break the bank." ~Stephen

"Pros: PROS - AMAZING location in Lake Tekapo - absolutely amazing property - the rooms were perfect with full kitchen and fridge and amenities - the front desk and checking process was smooth and pain-free - only 10m walk to all the shops/restaurants in 'downtown' Lake Tekapo - 3-4m walk to Lake Tekapo - spectacular views of the Lake and Mountain Cons: CONS - there are two building on the property, the main one and the adjacent building - for whatever reason, the owners somehow chose to have EXTREMELY poor lighting for the main building - the adjacent building is well lit up at night after 9-10p, each room having a light outside and easy visibility for safety for people to walk around - the main building is TERRIBLY lit at night. the front desk is closed after 10p and one cannot enter the elevator and must use the outside stairs. there are no lights outside each room and the main entryway where cars pull up is TOTALLY pitch black :( - it is not a safe feeling walking around and i would urge everyone to try to choose/request a room in the adjacent building and not the main one - this was not just my opinion but 2-3 other families i ran into and they mentioned the same thing - why the owners did not put MORE lighting in the main building eludes me - at a MINIMUM, they should keep the drive-up entryway lit up after dark so that it is safe for guests CONCLUSION: our family STILL heartily recommends this property for its location, views, and rooms but the owners NEED to fix the lighting ASAP" ~Chirag
