"Pros: We travelled over from ChCh to take a break with family for one night and we were very happy with the set up for this amount of time. It was a lovely place to relax for a few hours all together. The cottage is beautifully renovated and very clean.
Cons: Couches are placed a little difficult for more than 2 people to watch the TV but I guess this is a space issue. It would have been nice to light the fire as it was such a cold weekend but there wasnt any information on this and it didnt appear to work well. The heatpump however was very efficient for warmth."

Cons: Found when we arrived & opened the door it was freezing inside, maybe a good idea would be to leave the heat pump going."

"Pros: The location was good, with views over the town and water. Quality restaurants and cafes were within 5 minutes drive. The gravel approach road took a bit of getting used to. The location was quiet.
We keep returning to Akaroa for the ambience. One minute you are in the busy little township, but within seconds you can be enjoying a hillside walk without a soul around.
Cons: Our only quibble was the vegetation which was quite overgrown, partially obscuring the stunning views. There may be a good reason for this that we didn’t know. We also found we were unable to use the tv."
