"Pros: It was a beautiful riad in a great location. Ahmed was so helpful and informative.
Cons: Road noise at night was a little loud. Put the heavy sleepers in the bigger room and that’ll fix it." ~Melissa
"Pros: Staying at Dar Tazrout felt like stepping into a Moroccan fairytale. Tucked away in the heart of Tangier's Old Medina, this traditional home offered an experience that was both authentic and deeply comforting.
The riad is a beautifully restored three-level house, full of soul and craftsmanship: intricate tilework, warm wooden details, and a calm, cozy atmosphere throughout. Every room was spotless and thoughtfully decorated. The rooftop terrace was our favorite spot: peaceful, private, and perfect for morning coffee or watching the Medina come alive at sunset.
The location is ideal, just a short walk from landmarks like the American Legation, Dar el Makhzen, and the Kasbah. You’re right in the middle of the city’s energy, yet the house itself remains a quiet and intimate retreat.
Mohamed, our host, was exceptional. He met us personally to guide us in, and remained attentive, kind, and helpful throughout our stay.
Dar Tazrout is a rare find. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a rich, grounded, and beautiful experience of Tangier, whether you're a couple, solo traveler, or exploring with friends or family.
Cons: mosquitos :)" ~Cem
"Pros: The location and local charm of this apartment are truly amazing. The views are wonderful and the multiple upper areas are really nice to sit and relax in. The kitchen was nice and useful. The owner was very nice and met us at the ferry dock to help us get up to the apartment, which is right above where the ferry lands.
Cons: The main area bathroom had a very low ceiling in the shower so most people couldn't use it, and the sink needs a trap, perhaps, to prevent smells from seeping in. The coffee pot did not work and just leaked yuck all over. My daughter got some spider bites both nights in the upper bed." ~Kacey
