"Pros: Puerta del Cielo is an amazing place for a relaxing vacation by the sea. Rooms are perfectly clean and comfortable and each has its own on charm. “Cenote” room has its own patio with a private pool right by the bedroom. We were able to relax at the beach and at the terrace overlooking the ocean. Beach is clean and very quiet compared to Progreso or busier places. Would recommend bringing a car, as it is a bit far from stores/restaurants (as most places in the area).
The hosts, Jill and Randy, are extremely nice - Jill’s cooking is delicious (let her know in advance about breakfast or dinner), and Randy made sure we had fun, lending us paddle boards/kayaks and showing us how to fish.
As expected in a town like Chuburna, we had a minor issue with water, but the hosts fixed it right away.
Would love to come back soon."
