"Pros: What a cool spot. The entire ground floor of a beautiful house on a quiet bay that feels like the end of the world (in a good way): great sunsets! Nice patio and very nice hosts. Full kitchen if you like to cook. Cons: I tried to do my whole Mauritius trip without a car, but you should definitely have a rental car if you come here. There's a bus stop nearby (10-minute walk), but they discourage you from bringing luggage (since the busses are always packed). To be fair, virtually every guidebook said to tackle the south of Mauritius with a rental car, so this is on me for ignoring advice. With a rental car, this is a great spot, and the local food at the nearby snacks is great. Tranquil and way fewer tourists than Tamarin and Le Morne." ~Anderson

"Pros: Clean and wonderful stay in La Gaulette. Kitchen was well equipped. Good supermarket closeby which has everything you would need. The village is less commercialised and a good place to stay if you want more quiet and peace during your stay. Area is newly developing and adding more restaurants etc. Hosts were very responsive and made sure we had a comfortable stay. Cons: Only 1 private bathroom for 3 bedrooms was a bit of a problem especially on days with early starts." ~Ajoy

"Pros: The pool was great and location was good walking distance to most eateries in La Gaulette. Overall location good for accessing both Le Morne and Black River Rooms were spacious, shipping containers are quite large after all 😄 Cons: We did opt for the budget option so not really didn't like per se but but don't expect grand,.it's all perfectly functional. Examples being no proper.curtain rail but hooked over window and DIY wardrobes. But still enjoyed our stay and would recommend" ~Joanna
