"Pros: Umar runs a wonderful guesthouse in White Sands Inn. The rooms are clean, the AC cold, the showers hot, and an easy 1 minute walk to the beach. Rakib, the caretaker, is very helpful, cooking breakfast at times convenient for you, helping organise trips, cleaning your room, and generally making you feel both safe and welcomed. Our family did the whale shark trip twice as we didn't get to see them on the first day, but did on the second day, along with dolphins too. We also went to picnic island and got to see several more grey reef sharks and a cow tail sting ray. Umar was also very helpful in setting up speed boat transfers to and from Male/Maamigili. He was available on whatsapp before and during our stay with very timely responses. Make sure you reseach Maamigili first as it is a local island, focused on other industries with a basic tourist infrasture. Personally, our family really liked it and enjoyed the slow pace. We got to talk with many of the locals over the 5 days. Overall, if you are looking for an affordable and convenient way to fulfill your dreams of swimming with the biggest fish in the ocean, you can do it here at White Sands Inn." ~Dean
