"Pros: The location was great - walking distance to lots of food spots and the museums of interest - was even manageable walking distance for my parents who are in their 70s and are a bit slowed down. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful, from booking to checkout. Mdm Sharon and Mr Rajah (night guard) were really personable and made our stay better! The private parking was really handy, right across the road. Cons: Cleanliness could be better. We took the platinum swiftlet room - the couch was stained and the springs a little jangly (old) but it didn’t smell. The lamps were a little dusty but the cupboard was alright. Our first night the shower drain was clogged with hair etc but Mr Rajah helped us clear it up straight away (not easy to reach as it was underneath some wooden slats). Bathroom was otherwise clean as were the sheets. This is not a complaint but just a note for other travelers, the platinum swiftlet room is the room closest to the road and traffic starts around 6am on a weekday. Even in the wee morning we could hear and be woken up by some heavy vehicles, revving motorbikes so just keep in mind for your booking. I slept well from midnight to 7am but my mum got woken up a few times." ~Phoebe

"Pros: Location in the middle of the old town Cons: Not value for money. With the amount paid I expect a much better room and services. There is no one take care of guest at the counter. The hotel let the cleaner to take care which they dont know anything at all. Everything need to use Whatsapp to reach the person in charge which unfortunately very slow response. The whole check in process took more than half an hour. Room feel dirty as they are many decoration stuff which not properly cleaned. The room sound proof is the worse I ever stayed even with other old shophouses, when the next room speak softly, I can hear it as clear as if they are in the same room with me." ~Pin
