The Apsara

Apsara owner Ivan Scholte brought interior designer Niki Fairchild from Bangkok to assist with the hotel’s design. The result is what most visitors will agree is one of the most chic places in Luang Prabang. [read more] As the Asian Wall Street Journal said about the Apsara, "It's almost too attractive". The restaurant features polished concrete floors and serves modern European and Asian food and the driest Martinis in town. With Chinese-style lanterns hanging in marvelous multicolored clusters and original art on the walls, the use of color, placement of plants and greenery, riverside and mountain views creates a spectacular ambiance and feeling of well-being. The friendly staff just make the Apsara experience even more wonderful. The Apsara Hotel and Restaurant is situated on the Nam Khan River. A five minute walk takes you to the central evening market, Royal Palace Museum, Mount Phousi and major Buddhist temples. Just around the corner is the famous Elephant Restaurant. The hotel is a leisurely 15-minute taxi drive to the airport.
