"Pros: The lodge provides many amenities and services (pool, animation, etc.) that considering the location are really great.
Nice decoration and gardening, everything including the reception, restaurant, etc. built in a traditional style.
We liked the food served, considering again the location of the lodge.
The cottage where we stayed we found really nice - spacious, again built in a traditional style, it had a safety box, clean.
Good value for money compared to the rest of the lodges/camps around.
Staff nice and attentive, willing to help.
Cons: I think the main issue is the lack of good organization - I had booked a cottage, but given a tent (staff helped with moving eventually); I couldn't get adequate information about the safari I had requested with the booking which caused us some stress because we thought we might miss our chance to do it as we were staying for just one full day (it turned out ok, but we ended up having a safari that was shorter than we expected).
Mosquito protection was flawed (a net that was torn), maybe second biggest issue for me.
Difficult to reach - no good public transport options, private transfer must be used for some parts of the route and the lodge is doing very little to help that.
Low water pressure, electricity outages, but those I am really able to understand, they made our stay rather feel more authentic." ~Stoimen
"Pros: Amazing hotel, food was great, lots of options. Rooms were nice and we could see the Kilimanjaro from the rooms. Great place to stay, highly recommend
Cons: Recommendation to also have oat or soy milk for cappuccino. They only had cow milk which was a bit a pity. And the could offer free water at lunch at dinner." ~Eline
