"Pros: Location was great and the food was lovely. Cons: The arrival and check in arrangements were not good. We were messaged on WhatsApp by Mohammed about where to park our car and a location, along with details of the tours we could book etc. It sent us to a private house in the village of Ad Disa where we were met by a young man & asked to wait in a small “office” in the garage. After a few minutes a young boy of about 12 came in and told he was Mohammed’s brother. He got Mohammed on the phone who told us we had to pay for everything (accommodation, tours and dinners) up front there and then as the payment wouldn’t work in the camp. He asked for cash initially and when I said I didn’t have that much cash he tried to add on some “card commission” fee of about 25% for paying on a card. I refused at which point he then simply took the amount he originally had asked for. The whole thing felt a little dodgy particularly as I said I would pay when we got there and was was told I had to pay upfront. This needs to be done differently as got us off to a very bad start. In addition they were absolutely able to take payments at the camp. The other thing to be aware of is that the larger family sized Bedouin tents that are advertised as part of the camp are actually in a completely different location from the domes and were very isolated with few camp amenities. They were not very clean, with no towels, No AC etc. We therefore changed location back to the main camp and took a dome for our family stay at an additional cost." ~Jeremy

"Pros: The location was fabulous surrounded on all sides by mountains. The owner and staff were friendly and very accommodating to our needs and requests. I also liked that it was a small and intimate camp, which felt isolated from other camps. Even though there were 2 other camps nearby, you could not see them until you went up a small mountain where the camp had a seating area. From the ground and in your tent, it really felt and looked like there were no other camps for miles around. Cons: There were ants all over the room. The staff did try to get rid of them and left us with a mixture, which we had to use repeatedly as well as improvised. I felt the price was too high for the accommodation and the tour. The wifi was not very good but for me, that was not a bad thing as you go to the desert to escape all those harmful amenities we call technology :-)" ~Oral
