"Pros: - The accommodation had a parking a short walk away from the villa, it is marked clearly upon arriving - The host gave a nice presentation, putting sandals as though welcoming us home - Very traditional home, with tatami floor - Host was communicating and asked if we wanted a BBQ. They prepared BBQ grill free-of charge. We enjoyed the outdoor cooking and brought the food inside to eat - There is two private onsen, where you can choose to bath inside or outside. The indoor onsen was quite tiny, but was warmer than the outside. - The building looked very old, but this what gives its unique charms. - Very easy to check-in with host sending email for key access - Breath-taking view of the Yufuin mountains and nature around you, very quiet, perfect for uninterrupted sleep. Quiet neighbourhood. Cons: Nothing that I don’t like but things to be aware - From parking to the villa is not a sealed road, getting luggage in the rocky road was tedious from parking lot - Unless you drive a small car, the car cannot park right next to the villa to unload. Road in this part of of Japan can be very narrow, single car lane - The window is very thin, and insulation is poor. However, the host provided adequate heating to help us stay warm like air-con in the kitchen area and heater in the room. We stayed at the end of March, where temperature dropped to 2C at night. - Only one set of key is provided, so I had to keep placing the key back in the locker box if we had some of us returning home at different time - Despite the big white sign from parking lot pointing out where the villa is, it was not helpful. I resorted looking around to see and got adventurous wondering on a narrow gravel street (hesitant that it is a private property), but it connects to the villa. A few photos in the email showing where to walk could be helpful for future guests. - Access to the pagoda for BBQ is unsafe. The kitchen floor to the pagoda deck has a height difference of ~40 cm. They provide a small stairs to use, however, misplacement of the stairs can cause the person to fall and hurt themselves." ~Derrick

"Pros: The location is excellent, offering easy access to nearby attractions, and the onsen was superb, providing a truly relaxing and rejuvenating experience. Cons: The parking arrangement was inconvenient. The parking lot for the neighboring accommodation obstructed the entrance to our property, making it difficult to bring our luggage inside." ~Supanut
