"Pros: The staff (and the cute family) were super friendly and nice. It was fun communicating in Japanese and English and fighting the language barrier together! The guesthouse is strategically close to bus stops and Tottori Sand Dunes. It is still a remote area so not convenient for grocery stores and restaurants/konbini. Be mindful of that but it was beautiful sleeping in a tatami room facing the japanese countryside. The room was super comfortable with extra blankets and heating/AC Cons: Being a charming old house means it can get very cold in winter. I visited in late March and common areas were very cold. The kitchen was not the cleanest kitchen around but it served its purpose. I would recommend visiting Guesthouse Hamada-En and the beautiful Sand Dunes." ~Filippo
