"Pros: Hakuunsou, whilst being more “remote” from Takayama, was the perfect balance we needed for our trip into the mountains. The ryokan was quaint, and very well kept. The host lady was very kind, welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the onsens were magical! We found Haluunsou to be well positioned as we were able to access both the Shinhotaka Ropeway, and Takayama during our stay via the local bus. Cons: If you are short on time, the location might not suit your needs. It was perfect for us as we stayed 2nights." ~Phoebe
