"Pros: Traditional Japanese hotel in a great location by the cable car up the mountain. The dinner was included and was a real feast - very traditional and focused around a burner on the table with many small side dishes. Breakfast was remarkably similar to dinner. Room was comfortable, if not especially modern.
Cons: The river was extremely noisy, especially after it rained, even through triple glazing. It's lovely, but.... The dinners were too much, even after an active day - we couldn't eat them all and on the second evening, we really wanted something less complicated. Not much to do when it is raining."

"Pros: The hotel has its own hot tops. Its situated in the mountains and is a bit old in Japanese style and very authentic. We got a great feel there, but its not that modern.
Cons: We had hiked 10 hours before coming to the hotel. They serve no meals - not even breakfirst so we had to walk again about 1 km each way."
