"Pros: The food was wonderful (particularly the course dinner), the rooms were cozy and there was a nice lounge with a fireplace to relax in. Along with an in-room shower, there are two private Japanese-style baths (cypress wood and eathernware tub) to enjoy a more relaxed bathing session. Location is a bit removed from Matsushima's main street, but it is only a 5-minute walk to the train station and the main sightseeing/shopping areas, so it is very convenient. Staff were very warm and attentive.
Cons: The road next to the hotel had some traffic throughout the night, which woke me up a few times, but I am a very light and sensitive sleeper."
