"Pros: This place was an amazing stop-over on our train journey from Kyoto to Sapporo. I think we were especially lucky being here on a Monday night as we were virtually the only people here! It meant that my son and I got the public onsen to ourselves which is superb (the outside area is right next to falling snow and a stream). Cons: As non-Japanese speakers we were made to feel very welcome and the hosts were very accommodating. One thing I didn't realise was the remoteness and when we only opted in for breakfast, we didn't realise there were no other accessible dinner options nearby." ~Benedict
